Publish

We welcome publications in any area of the humanities from high-school students and undergraduates. Your piece does not have to correspond in style,  genre, or length to the writing currently published on our website. Contributions in new fields are welcome.

If you would like to showcase your writing on Scriptorium, please fill out the form here

We look forward to reading your writing!

Questions

Do you have specific requirements for pieces?

*A note on spelling: you may utilize either British or American spelling. Readers will find both on our website, depending on the author's location/preference.

Do you accept poetry?

Yes, we accept both poetry and prose poetry.

Do you accept STEM writing?

We do not, unless (1) your piece is interdisciplinary and concerns topics in the humanities just as much as topics in STEM, or (2) your piece explores STEM from a humanities viewpoint or is a personal reflection on a STEM topic.

Do you accept a piece that has already been published elsewhere?

Yes.

I have a piece that is too long to be published. What should I do?

You can publish in installments. This applies to both Essays and Fiction.

I still feel unsure about my writing. What should I do?

Don't worry. If you aren't sure about a piece, the best thing to do is to send it to us with an explanation and/or a request for proofreading. We can work with you to discuss your options and our proofreaders can suggest possible changes.

Do you accept artwork/photography?

We do not accept independent pieces of artwork. However, we are recruiting artists. You are more than welcome to provide illustrations or photography for our website!

Are you still recruiting?

Yes. We welcome new writers, proofreaders, and artists.

Where can I ask questions?
